
Omega Psi Phi Scholarship
The Chi Tau Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., in partnership with the Friendship Foundation, Inc., is pleased to announce our 2025 Scholarship Program for male graduating seniors that are attending college full-time in the Fall of 2025. This program provides financial support to young African American males in our community who have demonstrated excellence in academics, participation in extracurricular activities, and community involvement. The Chi Tau Chapter is proud and humbled to have offered our scholarship program for the past twenty-one (21) years.


Scholarship Application
Deadline: April 24, 2026
Scholarship Eligibility Requirements:
This is a competitive scholarship in the amount of $1,000 or more, available to African American male candidates.
Eligible candidates must meet the following criteria:

2026 Orange County high school graduate with a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or above.

Enrolling in an accredited, post-secondary institution as a full-time student for the Fall Term 2026

Demonstrated achievement through extracurricular and community activities.

Complete the Application Packet as instructed and submit by April 24th, 2026.
Application Packet:
1. Essay: A 500 word essay, type-written, double-spaced on the topic; ”A moment that changed how you see your future”.
2. Student Biography and Picture: Prepare an autobiography which includes a statement of future goals. A digitized professional photo is required. The photo should be in jpeg format at 300 dpi resolution quality or better. Submit a requested photo dressed in a coat and tie. (Example: Yearbook photo or a head-shot photo). 3. Your signature on the application grants Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., permission to publish your name, picture, scholarship amount, and personal biographical information.
4. Transcript: An official electronic high school transcript with cumulative grade point average.
5. SAT/ACT Scores: A copy of your SAT and/or ACT scores reported on the official electronic high school transcript.
6. Letters of Recommendation: Submit at least two (2) letters of recommendation from a high school counselor, employer, church leader, community leader, mentor, etc. The individual should include in the letter how long they have known the applicant and in what capacity. Letters from family members will not be accepted.

Submission of Application: Qualifying applications must be electronically submitted in complete form by Friday, April 24th, 2026. Hand-delivered packets by applicants given to fraternity members will not be accepted.

No paper, photos, or any other media will be accepted for application
The Scholarship Award Process:

Selection Methodology: The Scholarship Committee will review all submittals for completeness and clarity of the information provided. Essays will then be reviewed for content and the thoughtfulness described within. Grades, records, service, and other activities will be associated with each applicant to display the total involvement of each applicant. After creating this comparative full picture of the applicants, the selection(s) of applicants will proceed until the full funding available for that year is exhausted. Any endowed Scholarships will be identified and awarded during this same competitive process (i.e. Colleges, Predefined Majors, Special Interest Groups, etc.).

Scholarship Award: If selected to receive a scholarship, the applicant will receive a notification via the email provided on the application. Applicants who were not selected to receive a scholarship will also receive notification via email. THE DECISION BY THE SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE IS FINAL.

Receipt of the Scholarship: Upon completion of college registration and enrollment in classes, the student must submit an enrollment schedule issued by the Registrar’s Office. The scholarship check will be mailed directly to the student at the mailing address provided in the “student information” section of the scholarship application unless otherwise notified (by email). Scholarships not claimed by November 1, 2026 will become invalidated and not awarded.
